How to establish a ESNET connection ======================================= 1) be sure TV set is on; if yes - goto 3), if not - switch it on, proceed to 2) 2) if TV has been just switched on, increase the sound level and (important !) push the program button on the TV remote, then (given any program mark appears) push AV button to set an external input as AV (analog video) 3) using the navigation buttons on the POLYCOM remote find the lower left icon and enter (central oval button for OK), then on this next page, find the "switched FNAL" icon and choose it (OK) 4) be sure POLYCOM sound is on (no red lights on the POLYCOM small loudspeakers on the table) 5) to disconnect from ESNET - push the upper green button on the remote ("hang") and then confirm (OK button) the choice B. How to establish VRVS connection ==================================== 1) logon to the dedicated PC as "uscms" user with an appropriate password (Yousi, Laza, Salavat know) not to CERN, but locally (to PC). 2) go to browser bookmarks for VRVS link 3) logon (using stored-predefined name and password) 4) choose HENP in the left upper menu 5) click on "enter" in the left column 6) click on the arrived link "pi room" 7) type in the password 8) click on "yes" if questioned 9) click on "Connect using RAT and VIC" - in a few seconds the sound and video control panels will pop-up. 10) in video panel - click on "settings", then click on "transmit" in the upper left corner of the settings panel, then click on "dismiss" of the latter panel. 11) check out and adjust the transmitted level of sound appropriately 12) switch on the big triangle speaker (on the desk) 13) don't forget to log off from this account after the session is terminated. C. How to project images using laptop+projector and to share this laptop image with other VRVS participants. ============================================================================= 1) switch on the projector, using its remote 2) connect your laptop to projector using available VGA connector 3) push second (from top) right button "source" on the remote and using the navigation roll choose the second item from the top (analog video) 4) synchronize the laptop signal with the projector input using a combination of "Fn"+"CRT/LCD" buttons on your laptop (depending on the model) in order to get the laptop screen image projected on the wall screen. 5) on your laptop - start the same VRVS session as described in section B. until 8) inclusive !!! Important : to share your laptop image you have to have VNC server from VRVS (downloads) installed and running (and password is to be defined) 6) instead of clicking on "Connect using RAT and VIC", click on "sharing" button and declare your laptop as "shared" so that anybody connected to this VRVS session can "accept" the shared laptop and to get its image on his/her screen.
