Quick guide to Use ViaVideo for ESNET and VRVS.

Connection to ESNET

You may skip step 1-3, if the system has been already setup.

Step-1: Install ViaVideo software

Step-2: Register user and equipment with ESNET

Step-3: Setup for H.323.ad-hoc conference

· From the main ViaVideo screen click the i button in the top left corner to open the setup screen Select the H.323 tab

· If there is already a Gatekeeper Address listed, you should most likely leave it as is If there is no Gatekeeper Address listed, you probably need to register yourself and the equipment at http://www.ecs.es.net/ecs_reg. You will then be sent a gatekeeper address by e-mail. Or ask Tami.Kramer, if the equipment has already registered or not.

· In the GateKeeper Address textfield enter xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:1719 where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is your gatekeeper address.

· Make sure the specify box is checked

· Enter xxxxxx given by ESNET to the equipemnt in H.323 Extension (E.164) box.

e.g. (32-2-A22)- Gatekeeper 198.128.3.86:1719, H.323 Extension 201486.

· exit the setup screen

Step-4: Connecting to a H.323 ad-hoc conference

· Click “Polycom Video” on desktop to start Polycom software.

· Power on ViaVideo camera, if its power is off. Wait until software upload finish.

· From the main screen click on the Directory icon and the directory window will pop up

o For a continuous presence meeting enter 83267827 and click the call icon

o For a video switched meeting enter 82267827 and click the call icon

Connection to a H.323 conference from a telephone:

· Dial the number 1-510-883-7860

· Dial your ad-hoc meeting id (ex. 83267827) followed by #.

Connection to VRVS

· Start VRVS

· Enter a Virtual Room

· Click “Client Setup” tab in virtual room window.

o Click H.323.

o Host IP address shows up. It should be IP address of your PC.

o Bandwidth should be 384.

o Gatekeeper box- NOT checked.

· Click “Main” tab in virtual room window.

o Click “CONNECT H.323

Switching between ViaVideo with ESNET and VRVS

· Open ViaVideo

· To use ESNET:

o In the Setup/H.323 tab, make sure the specify box is checked

· To use VRVS:

o In the Setup/H.323 tab, make sure the off box is checked
